The ‘Get Active’ committee held a meeting just before the Christmas holidays. The children worked in small groups to complete a survey about their thoughts on the ‘Get Active’ process so far this year.

The responses were hugely positive. The poster competition “went really well”, “ it was exciting to find out who won” and “ it was good to talk to each other about getting more active”.

They all agreed that the Active planners are working well at home because “Some members of our families are getting more active”, “it has encouraged our parents to get involved by exercising themselves”, and apparently lots of families’ dogs are benefiting from extra walks!!!

When asked if they thought the school community had become more active they said, “Yes, the teachers are being more active. The kids get to see how active the teachers have been”. They also said that “people have started doing new activities that they didn’t do before”.

All of these aspects have meant that the ‘Get Active’ process has been a fun & beneficial endeavour so far. We look forward to more Get Fit initiatives in 2015. Remember, as our slogan says,
