
Active School’s Week kicked off on Monday with some special guests to the school. Mícheal Schlingermann, a past pupil of St. Aidan’s who is now goalkeeper for Drogheda United called for a visit with Adam Byrne, a pupil of St.Louis Community School. He is currently playing with Sligo Rovers. Karen Forkan Burke from The Parents Association and Kevin Burke from Kiltimagh Knock United soccer club also attended. These guests took part in our Whole School Wake up, Shake up! and ended the morning with a penalty shoot out with two pupils from each class taking a shot against Mícheal and Adam. Other activities that took place today were basketball and tennis with Mrs. Tierney and a walk with Ms.Lee.

We continue Wake up , Shake up! every morning.
Tuesday’s activities included Step Aerobics, Hip Hop Dance, golf and An Haka Gaelach!

On Wednesday, we started the day with Wake up, Shake up (as we have every morning) with Mr. Donnellan leading it.
Other activities that happened throughout the school during the day were a Dance workshop with 1st class, Orienteering with Junior Infants, a Welly Walk with Senior Infants and Boxercise with 5th and 6th class.

On Thursday, we had a very busy day. Luckily enough, the weather was slightly better than earlier in the week so there were lots of outdoor as well as indoor activities including; Wake up, Shake up, Orienteering with Senior Infants, 1st Class and 4th Class, Tai Chi with 3rd Class, Gaelic with 1st Class, Basketball with 2nd class and last but not least a Teddy Bear Walk with Junior Infants.
A very special guest came to visit school also today. Teresa O’ Malley from Mid West Radio interviewed three members of our school committee and recorded our Active Song and Chant which will be broadcast in the coming week on the station.
