In First and Second Class we have been learning first-hand about the life-cycle of the butterfly, the frog and the chicken.

- In First Class we collected tadpoles during the last week in Feb. We have been observing them closely in the classroom.

- There was great excitement on Mon 11th Apr 2011 when we spotted our first baby frog!

- In Second Class, our teacher Mrs Mooney sent away for caterpillars.

- We couldn't believe how fast they grew.

- We watched them making cocoons.

- During the first week in April 2011 our caterpillars hatched into butterflies.

- The butterflies were released on the 15th April 2011.

- On 15th April Mattie brought a hen and some baby chicks into class.

- THe eggs had been hatching for three weeks.

- We loved the fluffy chicks!
