Christmas 2020

Christmas celebrations in St Aidan’s were a bit different this year due to Covid 19 Restrictions. However it has been as busy as ever!

Junior Infants helped to decorate our Christmas tree and crib in early December.

Each class recorded a short Christmas video ( in accordance with Covid guidelines) which was shared with parents.

The school looks very festive with the lovely Christmas art.

On Friday 18th we had ( socially distanced) visit from Santa!

Mr Donnellan’s and Ms McHugh’s 6th Classes ( with a little help from SET s and Mattie SNA) made these lovely centrepieces for Christmas.

We missed retired teacher Petua Mooney this year (who has helped with this activity for many years!)

All classes enjoyed watching The Christmas panto The Sword and the Stone from the Helix.

On Monday 21st Fr Michael visited the school and joined in a Zoom Christmas Prayer service for the whole school. Niamh from Junior Infants (the youngest child in the school) placed the Infant Jesus in the crib. Fr Michael blessed the crib and led us in prayers, concluding with the following blessing -which is our wish to the school Community this Christmas.

 Christmas Blessing.

May love come alive within your heart

As Christmas time draws near

May hope fill each room you decorate

And bring joy to those you hold dear

May peace be before you at every meal

And faith ring through every song

For Christ is alive, the light of the world

My He bless you all Christmas long
