On February 8th Garda Conor Drury & Garda Brendan Walsh visited the Junior & Senior Infants in Saint Aidan’s to talk to them about road safety & the job a garda does every day. The infants really enjoyed it! We showed them our safe cross code dance & told them all the safe ways we knew to cross the road so they were very impressed with us.
Garda Conor handed round his handcuffs & baton for everyone to see. Garda Brendan made a call through to the garda station on his walkie talkie & we all got to say a big hello to the person on the other side of the walkie talkie! They even said hello back!
Everyone had their fingerprints taken & one infant got to be handcuffed!
We finished off the visit by going out to see the garda van & having a look in the back. We got to see the lights flashing & the sirens going as they sped away back to Swinford garda station.
