
On 31st August 2011, Jimmy Maloney retired after twenty nine years teaching in Kiltimagh.
On Fri 24th June 2011 the whole school assembled in the school hall with Mr. Maloney, his wife Regina and invited guests to mark this occasion.
- Some pupils, dressed in Mayo county jerseys and school jerseys formed a guard of honour as Mr. Maloney was escorted to the school hall.
- Special guests included Mr Maloney's wife Regina, former colleagues, Jim Higgins and Sean Rowley from INTO, Tony Fahy representing Cumann na mBunscol and members of the Board of Management and Parents Association.
- The pupils from each class entertained everyone with a variety of song, dance, recitation and music.
- Mr. Maloney's class finished with 'A Retirement Blessing'!
- Each class presented Mr. Maloney with a card wishing him well on his retirement.

- Mr Maloney is presented with two books from his third class pupils.
- Tony Fahy makes a presentation on behalf of Cumann na mBunscol.
- Speakers at the assembly wish Mr. Maloney well in his retirement.
- One of our teachers, Mrs Cunnane made this lovely retirement cake for the occasion.
- Afterwards lunch was served in school hall for all the staff and guests.
All the staff and children wish Jimmy a long, healthy and happy retirement.
